The Commissioner has produced this first Annual Snapshot to provide summary data about what is happening in the Victorian rental sector.
The Annual Snapshot aims to improve general knowledge about renting and to assist rental issues to be considered by people who are developing services and policies.
The Annual Snapshot draws on information from population level data sources such as the Australian Census and the Residential Tenancies Bond Authority as well as the main organisations to which renters turn for assistance, Tenants Victoria, Consumer Affairs Victoria, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, welfare agencies and community legal services.
